Captain Mix graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Oceanography and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. Upon completion of The Basic School in March 2014, Captain Darmody, designated as a logistics officer, reported to Logistics Officer Course in Camp Johnson, North Carolina.

Following Logistics Officer Course, Captain Darmody reported to Headquarters Regiment, 3d Marine Logistics Group in Okinawa, Japan in August 2014. While working with Headquarters Regiment, she held several logistics billets that helped facilitate exercises, logistics, and transportation of Marines and Sailors around the Pacific area of operations. The main highlights included training the Cambodian Royal Gendarmerie on command and control procedures and serving as the logistical representative and liaison for the Marine Expeditionary Brigade in support of exercise TALISMAN SABRE 2015.

In July 2016, Captain Mix reported to Combat Logistics Battalion 4, Combat Logistics Regiment 3, 3d Marine Logistics Group in Okinawa, Japan. First assigned as the Landing Support Platoon Commander, Transportation Services Company, her platoon supported exercises in the Republic of Korea and the Kingdom of Thailand ensuring the offload and backload of equipment and personnel for both major exercises. From May - August 2017, Captain Darmody served as Company Commander for Headquarters and Services Company.

In August 2017, Captain Mix checked into Force Fitness Division, Training and Education Command. She currently fills the billet of Training and Assessments Analyst for the Programs, Operations, and Assessments Branch.

Captain Mix’s personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. She is married to Lieutenant Zachary Mix, United States Navy.
