Major Patrick H. Hecox Programs, Operation, and Assessments Branch Head

Major Hecox was born on 7 July 1983 in St. Louis, Missouri, but moved to the Netherlands, Europe three months later with his family. He remained there until the age of 19, upon which time he returned to the United States to attend college. Major Hecox attended Officer Candidate School through the Platoon leaders Course in May 2003 and July 2005. He completed his undergraduate education in August, 2007 and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Marine Corps in September 2007.

Following the Basic School and the Logistics Officers Course, he was assigned to 2d Supply Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 25, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina in August 2008. During this tour, Major Hecox served as a Watch Officer in Iraq, and Battalion Operations Officer upon his return.

In July 2010, Major Hecox was transferred to 2d Maintenance Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 25, where he served as the General Support Maintenance Company, Company Commander until July 2011. Due to the assigned billet, Major Hecox was frocked to the rank of Captain in June 2011.

Major Hecox received orders to 3d Marine Aircraft Wing in Miramar, San Diego, California where he was assigned as the G-4 Operations Officer. Shortly thereafter, Major Hecox deployed to Afghanistan where he served as the 3d MAW (Fwd) G-4 Operations Officer for Operation Enduring Freedom 12.1 and 12.2. Upon returning, Major Hecox resumed his billet as Operations Officer until August, 2013 when he was subsequently assigned to Marine Aircraft Group 50 (RFF-1200). He deployed to Bahrain, serving as the S-4 Officer until April 2014.

Major Hecox transferred to MCRD San Diego in June, 2014 where he served as a Series Commander for Co L, 3rd RTBn for two cycles. In March, 2015 he transitioned to be the Regimental S-4 until the end of his tour. In July, 2017, Major Hecox transferred to Training and Education Command, Force Fitness Division where he currently serves as the Programs, Operations and Assessments branch head.

Major Hecox’s personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4th award).

Major Hecox is married to Major Karin Hecox, nee Ramirez, of Los Angeles, California. She is an Intelligence Officer stationed at the Defense Intelligence Agency.
