The Human Performance Office conducts service-level coordination of human performance and resiliency policies and programs in order to enable the achievement of the TECOM mission to train and educate the force.

Functions

Conduct human performance policy development and implementation.
Conduct and facilitate human performance research.
Explore and implement emerging human performance technology.
Conduct and facilitate Marine Corps Physical Fitness Program evaluation and assessment.
Explore, coordinate, implement, and oversee Marine Corps resiliency initiatives.

Jesse Philippi, staff noncommissioned officer in charge of the 2nd MLG Human Performance Center (HPC), while he demonstrates how to properly deadlift before conducting a physical assessment during 2nd MLG’s HPC 12-week training program on Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Sept. 6, 2024. CLB-22 participated in the assessment to track progress and achieve an overall improvement in their Marines with programs focused on a Marine’s or Sailors’ physical, mental, social and spiritual health.     The mission of the Sports Medicine Injury Prevention (SMIP) Program is to reduce attrition and lost work-days associated with musculoskeletal injuries (MSKI) in order to increase operational readiness of individual Marines and their units. This mission will be accomplished through the utilization of athletic trainers (AT). The ATs offer Marines, organizational Force Fitness Instructors, Navy. providers, and unit commanders the tools to assist in preventing or mitigating injuries in order to reduce the need for advanced medical intervention, light/limited duty status and lost work-days.
